Prayer Partner:
By
the grace of the Lord and through your prayers we arrived Toronto safely on 1st
of December. The director of SIM Rev. Pep Philpott and several ACEM families
came to meet us in the airport. They brought with warm coat for us. We felt so
warm even the weather was cold. We would like to share several items with you
that you may pray and give thanks to the Lord with us.
A.
Thanks given:
1.
We flied with Air Olympics with a heavy & over weigh luggage but praise the
Lord we did not pay the extra fee.
2.
We have moved into an apartment since we arrived. There is near by the ACEM
office and shopping center in walking distance. Daniel goes to school by one
bus. Thanks the Lord for His provision.
3.
There were more than twenty ACEM families who spent time to help us to clean the
flat and moved furniture even they brought foods and everything we need before
we arrived. We felt so warm that they have provided us such an unexpected care
and surprise.
4.
There was held a welcome party for us on 9th December. It was a great
encouragement for us through their loving kindness with flowers & gift. We
do feel at home among our own people after twenty years in the mission field
among Africans & Indians.
5.
We had been busy traveling for applications of government departments in the
first week of our arrival and we have got two years working permit as a clergy
position. Daniel has started schooling in Peoples’ Christian Academy on
December 10 for grate thirteen. He is taking six subjects; three subjects of
Math. English, computer, and Bible. He has a lot to catch up especially in Math
and new computer of Java. He is waiting for the result of Matric at the end of
December. He may apply to enter universities on next January. Please prayer.
6.
This whether is quite warm in Toronto. The first snowing was on Dec 14. We may
have a white Christmas.
B.
Prayer Request.
1.
We are spending our two years on furlough to help one of our supporting church,
ACEM in Toronto for enrich their mission ministry among the eight churches.
According to their request. Paul may focus on one church Mandarin and English
congregations for education & train on mission. Grace will focus more on
other churches-Cantonese & English congregation on mission ministry. May the
Lord give us wisdom & strength to adjust, also to build up closer & good
relationship with all ministers & staffs. We may able to work together under
their leadership for motivating & guiding the churches toward to participate
both in local mission and world mission.
2.
Pray for Daniel’s schooling and new church life. May the Lord give him good
Christian friends and adjust well.
3.
Pray for our responsibility as a member of SIM. We should spend some time to
help Canadian office.
4.
According to the Canadian law of transportation department. Our international
license could us here only for a month. That means we have to relearn driving
& get the local license. We had passed the written test on 17th
Dec. Paul has started relearning driving on 20 of December. Hopefully he has to
work hard on it during the Christmas holidays. He may go for G1 road test on
January. Grace has to wait until March for G1 road test because her S. Africa
license has less than two years.
5.
Pray for Paul’s father in Taiwan. May the Lord comfort him for the lost of his
wife on October13. Thank God for Grace mother has settled well in the old age
home. Pray for her winning souls for Christ will be successful.
Thank
the Lord for Paul has completed his Thesis and passed his Oral Exam on Nov. 12.
He has got his PhD in Missiology. Praise & glory to the Lord. Thanks for
your prayer. We would like to hear from you, please write.
