Dear
Prayer Partners,
While I was writing this letter, it was raining densely
outside with occasional thundering and lightning. It washed away the summer heat
of Thailand, (the hottest is 4X °C) and brought a feeling of coolness and
freshness.
A Childhood Prayer
The rains outside made me recollect my childhood in which my
parents always quarreled. Once, it
was especially acute. Full of fear,
I hid myself in the bedroom sobbing. Out
of no where, I got the faith which I think, came from the truth that I heard
from school. With tears, I
innocently prayed to the Lord whom I did not know then, “Lord, help my parents
not to quarrel any longer. Let them
love each other.”
A Wonderful Surprise
Not knowing that I, the child who whispered that prayer, proclaiming the
gospel of reconciliation overseas today. Now,
my parents not only accepted the Lord, they also celebrated their 55th
emerald wedding anniversary last month. The
Lord answered my little prayer, exceedingly more than I could ever ask or think.
Moreover, the Lord granted me a
wonderful surprise. In Hong Kong, I
could witness with my own eyes that my parents had put on gorgeous wedding
dresses and had taken a romantic studio photo album!
A Church Planting Training
As I have been tremendously blessed by
God, my desire is to bless Him by serving Him wholeheartedly. My mission
teammate and I had just completed a church planting training called “Project
Paul” for two weeks, held by OMF. Many
church planting ideas which were shared then were still hovering in my mind. During
this training, I also had the opportunity to interact with more than twenty
missionaries. We shared our church
planting visions and plans together. Please pray as we seek the Lord together to put them into
practice.
Praise
& Prayers:
1.
Thanks to God for His grace on my parents’ 55th emerald
wedding anniversary. Pray that the
Lord will use me to bless broken families and to sow seeds of light in the midst
of darkness.
2.
Thanks to God that I have finished two language modules for the second
year. There will be another
language check on “Introduction to Thailand Society” on 20 May. My
language helper is not a Christian. Pray
that she will know Jesus and accept salvation.
Thanks for your prayers,
Christine
