Pslam
The
Lord is my pace-setter, I shall not rush;
He
makes me to stop for quiet intervals,
He
provides me with images of stillness
Which
store my serenity.
He
leads me in ways of efficiency through calmness of mind
And
HIS guidance is peace.
Even
though I have a great many things to accomplish each day,
I
will not fret, for HIS PRESENCE is near.
His
timelessness, His all-importance will keep me in balance.
He prepares refreshment and renewal
In
the midst of my activity;
By
anointing my mind with HIS oil of tranquility
My
cup of joyous energy overflows.
Surely
harmony and effectiveness shall be the fruit of my hours,
And
I shall walk in the pace of the Lord
And
dwell in HIS house forever.
Psalm
23 (by Marcia K. Hornok, from Discipleship Journal. Nov/Dec. 90)
Thank
you so much for your continued support for me. It’s always such an
encouragement to hear that the ministry and I have been remembered in your
prayers, and that’s exactly what mission is all about: not an individual
adventure, but partnership. Everyone
can actually be involved, whether stationed back at home as well as in Nigeria.
I
know that many of you are worried about my second term of going because of my
health as well as my aging parents. There is really things happened one by one
during thirst home assignment if I now draw a summary on them …
First
my mum was taken by ambulance suddenly on the third day of Chinese New Year
(there was food stuck and could not go down to stomach). Thank God she was fine
on her endoscope result.
Then
I was busy making lots of different arrangements concerning my dad’s health
problem –dementia meanwhile I was also fulfilling the ministry-share in
different churches.
Till
May my dad fell in the house and got fracture on his leg, he had to go through
an operation in his age of 83. Thank God the operation went well after so many
prayers although his fracture was diagnosed very late.
Physical
and mental stress somehow took over my body, I was also sick and was diagnosed
having anemia and hyperthyroidism in late June.
Then
it was the time to take my dad to old age home because of his problem of
dementia and Parkinson’s disease which led him could not cooperate well enough
to be able to walk. The decision of ‘old age home’ was very difficult for us
to accept but it was somehow a relief.
At
last (I hope) it was my mum she had a rupture varicose vein suddenly in
late August. She also had to go through her third operation within just about 7
months although the first two were minor operations. Thank God that she is now
recovering well and enjoying the fellowship of visitors from my supported
churches!
Our
God never promise to grant us a life without troubles but he does promise His
PRESENCE and His STRENGTH for us if we call upon Him. I remember I was quite
weak in June and July, but there were about 5 speaking engagements. Every time I
was feeling dizzy especially before the sermon and I might be fainted away in
the middle of my preaching, I prayed to God for enough strength to stand and
speak for His word. His faithfulness did hold me through and take total control
for his sake and glory!
After
total 4 surgical operations on my aging parents within such a short period of
time, I believe God has directed me towards STAY
in order to take care of their need. I was praying hard to know His will
especially when my mum was in hospital. God even gave me some special witness
within one day and they were all supporting the same direction.
I
thank God for His direction which works for the good! I believe there is His
purpose for me to stay and just like calling me to Nigeria in first term. And I
also thank God for SIM both HK and Singapore office for being supportive and
understanding for the ministry and having same vision towards my next step.
I
will be taking ‘leave for absence’ in the coming year which means I will not
take financial support from churches and having less active in mission. That
will give me more time to rest and take care of the need of my parents. I
believe God will also prepare refreshment and renewal in the midst of my
activity by anointing my mind with HIS oil of tranquility…
Prayer
Request
1.
The House of Hope and HIV/AIDS ministry will be continued running by the
Nigerians. Please ask God to send His worker to lead them and that His gospel
will continue to transform people’s heart.
2.
I will find a full time nursing job next year. Please pray for God’s
guidance that He will give me clear direction and I can also practice what I
have learnt whether from HK or Nigeria.
3.
My aging parents – for mum, please pray that she will continue be
attending the worship service in one of my supporting church after recovery and
building good fellowship with the people. For Dad – please pray for his good
